Background and Design Projects

Born in East London, Lisa studied Furniture Making and Upholstery at the London College of Furniture. She then went on to further studies in Interior Design.

Lisa has successfully run her business for the last 20 years, working on a large number of diverse private and commercial projects. Her client base is varied with many working in the creative industries, predominantly music and fashion.

While on holiday with her partner and some friends in 2005, Lisa decided to buy a house in the ancient city of Essaouira, Morocco. Spending time at her house and travelling around Morocco has provided great inspiration toward her design aesthetic. 5 Columns is available to rent for holidays or location shoots. Visit 5-columns.com for details.

Burke & Hazelden is one of Lisa's most acclaimed projects. This unique interiors project - luxury hand painted furniture - saw her work with a number of emerging graffiti artists, they collaborated to have street art painted and applied to furniture. The work was hugely popular and generated large press interest including fashion and design publications, Vogue (as featured with Lily Cole) and Living Etc. Their one-off pieces were also showcased for sale in Liberty’s London.

My greatest strengths are building a strong relationship with clients to create living spaces that are both stylish and functional. I have an insatiable passion for design and tireless energy, which enable me to deliver the best possible project within my client’s budget.

In her spare time, you will find Lisa scouring antique fairs and markets looking for items to restore. She also enjoys travelling and visiting art galleries and exhibitions, combining business with pleasure. Occasionally at the weekend, you might find her dancing into the early hours as she's a huge fan of dance music or checking out new bands at live gigs.
