About Lisa Burke Interiors

Lisa will work with you to design a beautiful and functional interior space ranging from a single room to a complete house re-build as well as commercial or hospitality projects.

After the initial round of meetings to agree on direction and budget Lisa will put together a team of architects, structural engineers, specialist contractors and creatives to realise your new space.

Background and Other Projects

Born in East London, Lisa grew up in a household where her Mother was forever painting, making soft furnishings and rearranging the furniture. Her love of design, interiors and culture grew through her trips to galleries and museums in London with her parents. She studied Furniture Making and Upholstery at the London College of Furniture followed by further studies in Interior design before setting up her interior design practice in 1995.

Her house in Essaouira, the artisans and the architecture of Morocco have a had a huge influence on Lisa’s work and some of her projects feature ideas and traditional techniques used in a contemporary way.  She loves visiting art galleries and meeting emerging artists, whose work she loves to promote and feature in her projects. She is also huge fan of music having grown up in a creative and musical family, loves dance music and live gigs and is most happy when watching bands or dancing into the small hours at festivals and gigs.
Burke & Hazelden is one of Lisa’s most acclaimed projects. She collaborated with her long time friend and DJ Matt Hazelden. This unique interiors project – Graffiti artwork painted onto French Antiques – saw them work with a number of emerging graffiti artists who each applied their individual style of artwork to each carefully procured piece of furniture in their collection.

The work was hugely popular and generated large press interest including fashion and design publications, Vogue (as featured with Lily Cole) Living Etc & How to spend it. Their one-off pieces were also showcased for sale in Liberty’s London.

In her spare time, you will find Lisa scouring antique fairs and markets all over the world looking for items to restore and add to her collection of treasures. She loves to travel, discovering new countries and cultures and taking ideas and details from her journeys and using them in her design concepts.

I love meeting new people, and I believe that my core strength is realised in building strong relationships with them. I want to look at each of my projects uniquely and for my clients to feel part of the design process so they can enjoy the journey with me. I have an innate curiosity and passion for all things beautiful, a huge excitement for life and all that new experiences can bring.
