What Clients Say

Lisa oversaw and managed the total renovation of our Edwardian house. She was with us every step of the way and we certainly could not have done it without her.

She helped us right from the beginning with the planning and building control applications (which were a minefield) right through to the end of the project. Guiding us on the choice on of paint colours, curtains, blinds, furniture and all types of fixtures and fittings, who knew there were so many different types of light switches, taps, shower and bath fittings (Lisa does!!).

Lisa is a true creative and very in tune with the clients wishes, she really listens and takes on your suggestions and giving you loads of amazing options. She is also extremely professional when dealing with the huge amount of different trades involved in the build project and keeping a very sharp eye ensuring each job is carried out to Lisa’s VERY high standards!

Six years on we still love every room and the space in our house that Lisa played a huge part creating.

So we embarked on our first major redesign project back in 2018. We wanted to completely transform the ground floor of our Edwardian property – the flow just wasn’t working! From the outset, I realised that I needed to enlist the help of a professional! Lisa was amazing – she listened and totally understood what I wanted to achieve and the overall look I was going for!

Lisa worked so hard on our behalf to pull it all together, sourcing the products, doing all the research, challenging builders and specialists, her attention to detail gives you a timeless look and pulls everything together!

Her communication and support (trust me you need that support!) was unfailing and she was on this journey with us from the outset! I said to Lisa at the end of the project – Everyone needs a Lisa!!!

No-one should embark on a project without her and I mean it! So much so, Lisa is now helping us with the 1st floor. Her ideas are endless! I love working with Lisa, she’s approachable, patient, fun (you will also need some laughter), a fantastic designer and amazing value!

I love working with Lisa Burke and have done so on several projects. I really enjoy sharing my ideas about the look and function of what I want from a space. Lisa makes it fun and really listens. Lisa’s ability to refine these ideas and come back with designs that are exactly what I want (and some!) is what I really value from the design service she provides.
Lisa has great taste. She is passionate about interiors, fashion and art and so her designs are not only functional but playful, edgy and beautiful to live in. I am really excited for our next project.

Lisa burst into my life 12 years ago recommended by my lovely carpenter/sash window man.  I was looking at a muddle of downstairs rooms and an extension built in 1910 and working out what on earth to do with my kitchen.  He said, ‘you need Lisa’. It was love at first sight.  There isn’t a room in the house, a surface or wall that hasn’t had Lisa’s eye or Lisa’s help.

We started with a kitchen which turned into a complete downstairs configuration – extension, steels, big big walls down, and had us moving upstairs for 6 months (Lisa and her team built me a kitchen in a bedroom!). The kitchen was hand designed by Lisa, chalked up by Lisa, and lovingly measured to meet the height and needs of a very very foody Chef/husband who has produced thousands and thousands of family meals in it (12,045 at today’s count!). It finished a few hours before my second baby arrived, she was the last person I texted whilst in labour, I said we should probably finish off with the kitchen. Ten years later and another baby later the space we created transformed the way we live and used the house, we hosted party after party and it been a brilliant space to watch the children grow from.

We moved onto the bathrooms – I trusted Lisa so much I chose everything by phone whilst up a Swiss mountain for work. The bathrooms have stood the test of time and even more tellingly the demands of three boys.  When I said I wanted a ‘Yellow Brick Road bathroom, Lisa didn’t bat an eyelid and found Dorothy’s shoes.  We tackled children’s bedrooms – the most fun – spacemen and Tin Tin.  The guest room, extraordinary flamingos before they had their turn in the decorative sun. The study, less fun but a godsend 7 years later as I have spent a year in this room working from home during lockdown.  Lisa’s team is amazing, her plumber, her electrician, her painter. Lovely reliable people you keep in your life for ever.

If you want someone to manage your projects, design them and put your family’s needs at the centre of everything you do, call Lisa.  A hornet’s nest in the eaves while we were on holiday and the exterior was being painted was dealt with before we got home! Nothing is too much trouble – there’s no one else I would choose a sofa with or better still look through Liberty fabric swatches with, and even better still get up at 5am in the morning whilst 7 months pregnant to meet at Sunbury Antiques to have fun finding arm chairs, cabinets, sofas and bedside tables.

It’s nearly time for another life stage and Lisa was the first to know… it’s time for her to work her magic on another house for me and turn it from a house into a home.
